Created by nationally acclaimed artist Yuri Tsuzuki, the Butterfly Keeper project has installed dozens of butterflies on buildings, light posts, and parking garages in downtown Greenville to serve as a visual reminder of the transformation that results from the struggle for life, rebirth and hope (click here to read Yuri’s Survivor Story). Like the butterflies, the Cancer Survivors Park will celebrate the strength and beauty that can be found even through life’s most difficult times. Yuri’s butterfly sculptures remind us of those in our community who have been touched by cancer while also symbolizing the extraordinary transformation of our city.

Businesses in downtown Greenville can now become a part of the Butterfly Keeper project to support the Cancer Survivors Park through the purchase of a beautiful, limited-edition butterfly sculpture to display in their offices (only 75 available). These one-of-a-kind sculptures come on a stone base with a pre-engraved Butterfly Keeper plaque to show the business’ support of the Cancer Survivors Park and all those who have been affected by this disease.

The significance of the Butterfly Keeper project will be shared through signage on a new, large multi-butterfly sculpture being created by Yuri (to be installed in Summer 2017) that will reveal how the butterflies have taken flight, landed in downtown businesses and ultimately found their way home in the Cancer Survivors Park.

This large sculpture (funded through a private donor) will be installed on the exterior wall beside Brooks Brothers on Main Street and will include signage to explain the significance of the butterfly for  both the Cancer Survivors Park and the City of the Greenville.

Downtown businesses making a $1,000 tax-deductible contribution to the Butterfly Keeper campaign become a part of a special city project that will be a living legacy for generations to come. Businesses interested in becoming a Butterfly Keeper can click here to contribute online, or click here to download a pledge form. Butterfly sculpture will be delivered within two weeks, and company names will be featured below.
